Beauty and the beast

Why are women considered the fairer sex? Is it to do with her skin colour or the state of her mind?

Why do we say ‘lady luck’? Is it that luck is seen as a capricious woman, granting and withdrawing her favours according to her whims?

Are women really weaker at reading maps?

This post has a look at some common gender biases and stereotypes.

Why is a woman behind every successful man?

If she takes her job of being a homemaker seriously, she is tagged a ‘mother hen’.

And if the poor male does some work at home, he is ‘hen pecked’.

A woman who knows her mind is believed to ‘wear the pants’.

Sometimes though, you give her an inch and she takes a yard.

Wouldn’t this be taking it a bit too far?

But then, you can’t blame us women.

As Mark Twain once said, “what would men be without women? Scarce, sir..mighty scarce”.
